First release for Curves

This is the first release ever of the game that I have been working on for more than a week. It started out as a replica of the game CurveFever, but with a turn on the single player mode, letting players unlock new boosts and arenas using resources they've collected in the game. The resource management system is also the scoring system, which records the number of stars and boosts collected as well as the number of obstacles killed. It is not necessarily a new idea but I don't think people have used it for this kind of game. Also there are features I added for my own learning purposes, such as a lot of camera work, some narrative, the reward system, etc. New multiplayer modes are also included as I only support local-multiplayer and so had to deal with that (dis)advantage.

Anyhow, that was an introduction to my game.

I am quite happy with how it came out, the boost system works quite well, even in extreme cases where different types of boosts are stacked upon each other such as making big gap while creating small gaps (cheese boost), or a thin boost on top of a big gap boost (there is no line to decrease its size).  There are still some bugs here and there, some of which are known technical problems, and I made them features of the game, such as dying when going too slow, or slow + attack boosts = die. These are due to the collider of the head colliding to its tail although I did not think they make a lot of sense.

There is a huge bug with the ScriptableObject system in Unity - which became corrupted in the built version. Players ended up not being able to see or unlock any boost in the game, thus not being able to enjoy the game to the fullest. The PlayerPrefs system is not working as intended as well, such that some of my friends testing the game reported information loss after restarting the game. The reason for this is unknown to me at the moment, I will look into that.

Last but not least, there is a great balancing problem within the game, the price to unlock stuffs and more. I look forward to seeing any advice on you to improve this!

And that's that. Thank you for visiting and perhaps, playing Curves!
